Doyers Street

I will tell you about a place in New York City. Have you been to Chinatown? Many of my students like to go to Chinatown. It is an interesting part of New York City. It feels different than the rest of the city. You will see many signs in Chinese. You can see Chinese markets. The markets sell different kinds of fruit, vegetables, and fish.

In Chinatown, there is a street called Doyers Street. Many years ago, Doyers Street was a dangerous place. Many people were killed at Doyers Street.

In 2021, an artist painted the street. The artist is from Chile. His name is Dasic Fernandez. He painted the street in many colors. He said the lines of colors looked like rice terraces in China. Google pictures of Doyers Street when it was painted. What do you think?
